A memorial celebration and benefit for the Memory of Jennifer Lorraine Key is being held at Oak Grove Park (at the intersection of South Dodge and Page Streets, Iowa City) on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 11:00 a.m.
During this memorial, we will be holding a silent auction of some of Jennifer’s artwork, others’ artwork, and other donated products and services. This silent auction will close at 8pm and winners notified if they are present, or on the following Monday. All items being auctioned are also being made available via the links in the sidebar to your lift, so that those who cannot attend may also bid.
All proceeds of this benefit will be used for the following:
Repayment of a personal loan for Jennifer’s cremation as well as travel expenses for Jennifer’s family to travel to Atlanta, retrieve her cremains and scatter them in the lake where her father resides.: $5,000.
Repayment of personal loans for Jennifer’s past rent: $735.00
In the event that funds from Jennifer’s Memorial Benefit and silent auction are raised in excess of these expenses, we will form an ongoing memorial fund to be used by the Mental Health and Disability Services (MHDS) program of Iowa City to establish an emergency medication fund for those suffering from schizophrenia and Bipolar disorder.
The outpouring of support we've received--both emotional and material--has been extraordinary. Our gratitude for the generosity of so many can't be overstated. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. We hope that after you browse these items from local artists and local businesses, you'll remember them for their contribution.
If you would like to make a contribution, we are still accepting new donations every hour and have plenty of room for your donation to stand, together or apart fom others'. We greatly appreciate the thought and hope you will come by today as we celebrate the life of my beautiful daughter, Jennifer Lorraine Key.
